Callum Abberley finished 1st in Heat 1 of the U15Boys 1500m at the England National U15/U17 National Championships last weekend. He ran a time of 4:16.67 beating Englishman Mohamed Mohamud of Sussex on the line. This was the first time Callum has qualified for a final achieving a new personal best in the process.

24 hours later Callum prepared magnificently for the final. Leading the first lap from the gun, he eventually finished 5th running another personal best time of 4:15.91.

His starts were absolutely awesome; this showed that his hard work had paid off. Callum has never reached a final before so we can take many positives out of his performances. Callum also found out a really good warm up routine, which will be key for future success. He has four races left being 3×800, 1x300m and a 1500m. Hopefully he can finish the season off in style.

Video of Callum’s race is available at Vinco Sport under England U15 & U17 Championships.
