Ellis Cross secured his second ever Midland track title by winning the U20 Men’s 3000m last weekend in Coventry. Ellis led the race from start to finish, clocking 8:59.28 in the process. A windy and humid night didn’t get the better of him as he remained focused throughout the race. Both the Junior and Senior races were run in slow times however, championships races are about winning no matter what the winning time is.
Jack Simpson flew over from a BMC event in Solihull to inform us that he ran a huge personal best time of 1:56.89 in the 800m. This accelerates Jack up the rankings, placing him 4th fastest in age in the United Kingdom. Well done both!

Ellis will be looking ahead to next weekend where he will be running in a 5000m track race. Ellis will be joined by Bikram who will be competing over the 800m. Jack and Callum Abberley will be heading to Bedford to compete in the U17/U15 England National Championships.
