Fantastic performances from all three athletes today. I’m extremely proud with their desire to achieve the best possible results even when there is no competition.

Jack Simpson ran the best tactical race of his career taking GOLD in the JM 1500m. He achieved a new Personal Best time of 4:00.5. A Stoke lad ran an opening 60 second first lap which he then paid the price for over the last 250m. Jack sat smartly behind and did his job effortlessly. Well done Simo!

Callum set himself a goal of achieving the U17Mens 1500m Staffordshire record of 4.00.6 set in 1984.
Callum went through 800m as planned at 2:06, but the next 300m was covered in 56 seconds. Hitting the bell at 2:58 (1100m) he ran an awesome 64 second last lap just missing out recording 4:02.9. NEVERTHELESS it was an incredible solo run for Callum who only challenged himself. He didn’t feel 100% so should be delighted. The Burton Bullet will be next ready for Staffs Schools/Mason Trophy.. @_tomrandolph ran 50.7 over the 400m claiming SILVER in the JM category. We all felt that he had broken 50 but the timekeepers said otherwise. It was definitely Toms fastest ever 400m so well done Randolph.
