Mercian Cyclist Ricki Ellison recently claimed three medals in a spate of fast hill climb races in the Peak District, Derbyshire. Ricki completed Blaze Hill, Macclesfield Forest (Standing Stone) and Smith Lane, finishing 3rd, 2nd and 1st respectively. Ellison surprised himself over these longer climbs, as he normally prefers short steep, “proper” ascents. Comparing the data to similar distances and gradients over the last few years, we can gladly say that he has achieved personal best times. These performances bring a massive boost ahead of this years hill climb season which is due to commence at the beginning of September.
